GROWING PROCESS
From our ranches
to your business.
The process behind our current program, hydroponic tomatoes at our ranches in Galeana, Nuevo León. Photographed at the operation itself.
- 01
Growing environment
The crop grows inside greenhouses, in coconut-coir substrate raised off the ground, protected from direct weather and away from soil contact.
- 02
Water and nutrition
Plants are trained on high-wire trellis and watered by drip fertigation. Irrigation water is filtered and dosed in an on-site fertigation room before it reaches the crop.
- 03
Harvest
Fruit is picked by hand, truss by truss, into crates and moved to the packing area at the ranch.
- 04
Selection
Crates are tipped onto a roller line where fruit is inspected by hand and separated into size lanes, SM, MD, LG and XL.
- 05
Packing
Fruit is packed into the 25 lb two-piece corrugated carton, with the size marked and the grower/packer identification printed on each case.
- 06
Shipping
Pallets are staged and loaded. Product travels via San Nicolás de los Garza toward McAllen, Texas, where our team coordinates the delivery to your business.
